One of my earliest memories is that of napping beneath my moms table at a Dollhouse Miniature show in Redmond Wash. It is from going to the shows with her, she made 1:12 scale porcelain dolls, that my love for miniatures was born. My first mini creation was a plate of fimo chocolate chip cookies followed by little jointed porcelain teddy bears (dressed as clowns and ballerinas). However it was not until I made my very first straw hat that I knew I had found my calling.
In addition to miniature hats, I have also made vanity trays, purses, apothecary sets, jewelry sets, decorated vanities, sewing boxes and over 200 other items – all in 1:12 scale. For over 12 years my full time job was creating miniatures under the name Bella Miniatures and selling them to shops and collectors throughout the world.
I felt very honored when some of my hand-sculpted miniature masks made their way into several doll museums and publications.
As I grew as an individual and artist, my crafting and art loves expanded to include jewelry (full human size), purses, and more, but my love of miniatures is as strong today as it was when I was just a little freckle faced pig-tailed girl.
